Interior Horse Council (IHC) is a non-profit 501c(3) corporation composed of representatives from local riding groups, as well as interested individuals.
We function as an umbrella organization promoting equine-related education and training in the Alaska Interior. IHC acts as advisor and liaison to the Tanana Valley Fair Association and has provided extensive equestrian Fairground improvements, completing initial construction in 2009 with additions in 2013.
Our most recent project has been renovation of the Fairground horse stalls. Read more about our latest project here.
Interior Horse Council generally meets the second Monday each month at 7 p.m., but please mouse-over the calendar widget to check meeting location & time in case those have changed. All meetings are open to the public.
IHC members may ride for free at the Tanana Valley Fairgrounds on designated days May through October. Designated days are as indicated on the Ride Calendar. Members wishing to ride at the fairgrounds must either sign up as a ride manager or attend when another member is acting as ride manager. Children under the age of 18 must at all times on the fairgrounds be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Join / renew your IHC membership by downloading and filling out our interactive application, then print it along with the pre-addressed envelope and send it in. If you are a member of a partner organization (see list on sidebar), you are eligible for reduced dues.
